Course and examination take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete and, upon successful completion, provides a printable handler certificate and card. This card is good for two years.
The Texas Food Handler Training Course is required by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The Texas Department of State Health Services requires all food handlers to obtain knowledge about food safety and sanitation. The Texas Food Handler Training Course does just that. In just about 1.5-2 hours the food handler is trained and will receive a downloadable certificate and handler card.
ASFTP provides online food handler training. Food handler training is optional in most areas of Texas and this course provides excellent food worker training to teach the important principles of food safety to food handlers. A food handler is defined by law as a person who works in a food facility and performs any duties that involve the preparation, storage or service of food in a food facility. This program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) against the ASTM standard.
