FOOD PROTECTION HANDLER

ASFTP California Online Program provides food protection / management training and facilitates access to the official certification exam.

 

The course through video, animations and audio- communicates years of expert food science and sanitation research and professional  food industry experience; along with the latest FDA Food Code updates. 

 

Course objective is to  educate, and instill an environmental health, food science and sanitation culture so that the manager can implement what is learned, and communicate it easily and efficiently to the rest of the team.

In short ASFTP California Online Program provides all knowledge necessary to pass any of the ANSI accredited Food Protection Manager Approved Exams. Simple instructions are provided under our section: "Online Testing", on our site navigation menu, so you can complete your certification easily.

Food Protection Manager: Required.

Food Handlers: Required to take an ANSI/ASTM-2659 course.

Exceptions: Food Handlers - grocery stores.

Manager Training Hours: Recommended but not required.

Food Handler Course: Requires an ANSI/ASTM 2659 approved Food Handler Course.

Food Manager Certification and Food Handler Certificate Renewal: Food Manager every 5 years; Food Handler every 3 years.

California Food Handler Training

The Food Handler Training does not qualify in the counties of Riverside and San Bernardino. Those counties have their own local food handler programs. We do offer qualifiying San Diego County online Training and Certification. Upon selection, purchase you will choose whether you work/reside in San Diego County or not. You will then be directed to the appropriate course and certification applicable to you. 

ASFTP online Food Handler Training is approved for use in the State of California. The course and examination take approximately 2 hours to complete and, on successful completion of the course, provides the trainee with a downloadable certificate and handler card. The certificate is provided for the establishment and the card is for the employee. 

This course uses state-of-the-art programming and can to be used on all computers, tablets and smartphones, without the need for any other downloads.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY WORKERS

​

San Diego Food Handler TrainingThe My Food Service License Food Handler Certificate Training and Examination program. This course is approved for use in the County of San Diego. The course and examination take approximately 2 hours to complete and, on successful completion of the program, provides the trainee with a downloadable certificate. The certificate is provided for the establishment and for the employee. This course and certificate is only valid in San Diego County.

PLEASE NOTE: IMPORTANT

​

If your establishment, organization, REQUIRE you to go to the live class, and obtain the non self printed San Diego Food Card, we can MAIL you, the OFFICIAL SAN DIEGO COUNTY CARD, along with a supplemental laminate, so you can sign it and take it to your local Office Supply Store to get laminated. The one mailed to you would be the exact one that you would receive had you gone to a live course. Most organizations and businesses in San Diego County are unaware of this new approved system of certification. Becuase for years, San Diego County only allowed administration of this test, with a live proctor. Times have changed, and it will take many years perhaps for many organizations in San Diego County to accept this new county approved method of certification. It is now at the sole discretion of the private company or  organization, to make it an internal in house requirement for the test to be taken in a supervised setting, a.k.a. attend a live class, or video class with a live supervised test proctor, or not. Please discuss this with your prospective employer, organization affiliation. We will tend to your needs as best as we can.
